SELANK 10MG
SKU: SELANK-10MG | Category: Research Compounds
Synthetic heptapeptide anxiolytic analog | Tuftsin derivative | Neuropeptide research | ≥99% purity
Selank (Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg-Pro-Gly-Pro) is a synthetic heptapeptide derived from the immunomodulatory tetrapeptide tuftsin (Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg) with an additional Pro-Gly-Pro C-terminal extension that confers proteolytic stability relative to the parent peptide. It was developed and studied extensively in Soviet and Russian neuropharmacology research as a model neuropeptide with anxiolytic and cognitive-modulatory properties.
Research applications include investigation of GABA-A receptor potentiation and benzodiazepine binding site interactions, BDNF and neurotrophin expression modulation studies in cortical and hippocampal cell cultures, enkephalin degradation inhibition assays, serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine transport modulation, and comparative studies within the galaninergic and opioid systems. Its tuftsin-derived structure also supports immunopeptide receptor binding research.
