SKU: TB500-10MG | Category: Regenerative
Thymosin Beta-4 active fragment | Actin-sequestering peptide | ≥99% purity
TB-500 refers to the biologically active fragment of Thymosin Beta-4 (Tβ4), a 43-amino acid G-actin sequestering protein ubiquitously expressed in mammalian cells. The active fragment (typically the central actin-binding domain) retains the core LKKTETQ motif responsible for G-actin binding, modulating the ratio of monomeric (G-actin) to filamentous (F-actin), a balance critical for cell motility, wound contraction, and angiogenic sprouting.
Research applications include actin dynamics studies (G-actin binding assays, barbed-end elongation inhibition), endothelial cell migration and tube formation assays in Matrigel angiogenesis models, myofibroblast differentiation studies, investigation of Tβ4-mediated upregulation of integrin-linked kinase (ILK) and downstream Akt activation, and cardiac repair research using cardiomyocyte culture systems. TB-500 has an extensive literature base in rodent models of tissue repair.
