BPC-157 (Body Protection Compound 157) is a synthetic pentadecapeptide (GEPPPGKPADDAGLV) derived from a partial sequence of human gastric juice protein. It is resistant to enzymatic degradation in vitro due to its sequence architecture, making it a stable model compound for proteolytic stability studies.

Research applications include investigation of angiogenic signaling pathways (particularly VEGFR2 and nitric oxide synthase activation), fibroblast migration and proliferation assays, tendon and ligament cell culture models, and gastrointestinal epithelial repair studies. BPC-157 has been widely used in rodent model research examining connective tissue, musculoskeletal, and gut mucosa biology.
